“The Complex Bean” refers to the complexity of flavors and aromas that every coffee bean possesses. Our goal is to unlock the potential of every bean for the best cup of coffee, espresso, latte or frappe you’ve every tasted. There’s lots of science involved, but it takes skill and an artistic flair to really make a special cup of coffee.

At The Complex Bean, we believe that by selecting the best ingredients, we can deliver the best flavor. From acquiring premium coffee beans roasted to perfection, to sourcing fresh local bakery ingredients for our scones, cookies and cakes, we strive to provide optimum flavor and goodness in everything we produce.

The Complex Bean is a place where customers can socialize with each other in a comfortable and relaxing environment while enjoying consistently well-prepared locally roasted coffee, espresso or tea and bakery products. We are open from 7am to 5pm Monday thru Friday and from 8am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday (excluding some holidays) with a convenient drive up window for picking up that morning cup, or for coffee and bakery items for the office staff.

The Complex Bean Coffee Bar and Bakery is located just off North College Road (Hwy 117) and Bavarian Lane, near BP Gas Station, Camino Restaurante and China wok. We are proud to serve the area that includes Murrayville Station business park, North Campus of Cape Fear Community College, Trask and Laney schools, North Chase Business Park and the local towns of Castle Hayne and Wrightsboro.
